
The First Unitarian Church of Victoria Foundation was established to promote the principles and values of our Church. Currently the Foundation has contributions invested with the Victoria Foundation totaling approximately $55,000. Income from these funds is dedicated to supporting First Nations education at Camosen College, the music programme and social responsibility programmes of the Church.
On behalf of the FUCV Foundation, Frances Hancock(centre) gave grants this year to the following recipients. Kevin Henry is Coast Salish and is in the Indigenous Human Services & Career Access Program and is planning to become a Social Worker specialising in Mental Health and Addictions.
Lorri Leonard is Shuswap and is a graduate of the Indigenous College Prep program and plans on becoming an educator. She is the mother of a five year old son and a two-time survivor of cancer.
