You can also go to the website BC211.ca and enter keywords and your location, for a referral to any government or social service near you. Police, RCMP and service providers also check on available beds for those without a warm bed, by checking the BC211.ca Shelterline list.
Why should our congregation support this transformational service?
- Two short video clips may help you see:
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i8DG5VNJpTE because Sara lost her job due to her husband needing help
- Surveyed teens gave these reasons http://www.bc211.ca/2015/02/watch-ineedbc211-video/
- BC211 services put our UU principles into action through honouring the inherent worth and dignity of every person, enhancing social justice, equality and compassion and connecting the interdependent web of all existence of which are a part.
