If you would like a ride out to the church, members and friends can call others on this list who are offering rides. Please check the routes volunteers have indicated and contact someone who travels by, or very close to, a point where you can be picked up. If no contact information is provided, please check the Church Directory. If you are unable to access this list, please phone the office at 250-744-2665 by Thursday morning if you need a ride to church.
Royal Oak Shuttle
If you can get to Royal Oak Transit Exchange by 10:00 am on Sunday, you can get to church in time for the 10:30 am service. If you live on the #6, #31, or #72 bus route, and can ride a bus, it should work for you. If the bus doesn’t work for you how about biking (there are bike racks at Royal Oak Exchange) or walking to Royal Oak Exchange?
How does it work?
Get yourself to Royal Oak Transit Exchange by 10:00 and wait in the shelter at Bay D (North West corner of Royal Oak Drive and Elk Lake Drive). Check the map here and a photo of the shelter to wait in here.
At 10:05 am a volunteer driver will take you to the church.
After the service, the volunteer will arrange to deliver you back to Royal Oak Exchange at a mutually agreed time.
If you have questions please email LocationTaskForce@victoriaunitarian.ca
The #83 bus stops close to the church – our closest stop is West Saanich at Matterhorn. Unfortunately, the #83 has restricted service on weekends and doesn’t arrive in time for our regular Sunday service. You can see the daily bus schedule at the BC Transit website. Why not let BC Transit know your needs for bus transportation? In the meantime, please phone the office at 250-744-2665 by Thursday morning if you need a ride to church, or consider cycling if that’s an option for you.
The church is accessible by a pleasant car-free bike trail: the Interurban Rail Trail runs parallel to West Saanich Road, directly past the church.
