JOB TITLE: Communications Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY: Reporting to one of the co-ministers you will work in collaboration with the other office staff and volunteers to coordinate the generation, editing and distribution of internal and external communications. Additionally, you will administer the membership database (Breeze), Google workspace, Mailchimp and the process for vulnerable sector check of volunteers.
JOB DUTIES:
- Internal Communications
- Create internal digital and paper communications e.g. brochures, forms, special orders of service.
- Schedule and send e-blasts to church membership.
- Edit and distribute monthly newsletter.
- Compile, format, edit and distribute weekly e-newsletter.
- Digital Mail list management – update and synchronize Mailchimp and Breeze mailing lists.
- Enter data into Breeze, ensuring data integrity.
- As Breeze administrator you will manage users and data, create forms, reports and processes to support the work of the membership committee and other church leaders.
- Work with outside contractor to establish and maintain google workspace.
- Telephone reception duties as required.
- External Communications
- Update Website content and engage with web designer for major site changes.
- Publicise church events in print and on social media platforms.
- Update external bulletin boards, monthly.
- Vulnerable Sector Checks – complete all tasks required to comply with BC vulnerable sector check.
- Other Duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
You have:
- a high degree of skill with Microsoft Office tools, Google Workspace, Mailchimp and updating websites.
- a history of being the one to figure out new technology and are excited to research options for “fixes” within available resources available.
- ability to coach people how to engage with digital and online tools.
- an ability to work with confidential information with a high degree of integrity.
- an eye for detail and love to learn new things.
- experience with a customer relationship management database and look for ways automate and streamline business processes.
- comfort working with a small staff in a non-profit environment with a large base of engaged volunteers.
OTHER DETAILS
This position is 13.5 hours per week, 48 weeks per year. The salary is $30/hour plus 4% vacation pay. The location of this position can be hybrid but attendance on site will be required at times.
