Pride Parade

Mark your calendar for this year’s Pride Festival!

The last time First Unitarian of Victoria participated in PRIDE was in July 2019. The first Victoria Pride Parade was in 1994. FUCV has been in the parade for many years since then.

A great Intergenerational event where all are welcome – birth families, adoptive families, chosen families, extended families, and church families!

We require many volunteers to carry our huge rainbow banner along the parade route.  Our banner and “chants” always bring smiles to the faces of the parade viewers. The parade starts at 11:00am.  The parade date is earlier this year (June instead of July). The parade will take us on a new route over the Johnson Street Bridge. Exact details of our place in the parade will be forthcoming a week prior to the event.  Please watch for further information in the E-Weekly. This is a fun event and not to be missed! The excitement continues after the parade at McDonald Park for the Pride Festival with entertainment, food, and vendors. This year, First Unitarian will highlight a children’s activity area beside our tent and volunteers will be ready to answer questions from the public about our amazing faith community.

Let’s show our colours!! See you there. For further information to assist in volunteering to help set up and take down, or to take a shift at our booth, kindly contact Liz Graham To volunteer to carry our very long rainbow banner contact  Nancy Dobbs
