12 noon to 2 pm in the Sanctuary – “Why Don’t They Get Over It? – Intergenerational Trauma Covered by the Residential School Era” presented by Dr. Martin Brokenleg.
Dr. Brokenleg will be welcomed in SENĆOŦEN and English to the W̱SÁNEĆ territory by Grace Blackwood, a grade 5 student of the ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱ Tribal School on the Tsartlip reserve.
Dr. Brokenleg holds a doctorate in psychology and is a graduate of the Anglican Divinity School. He was a professor at Augustana University in South Dakota for 30 years and most recently was Director of Native Studies and Professor of First Nations Theology at Vancouver School of Theology.The father of three children, he is now retired and lives in Victoria.
On Sunday, Nov. 4, at 12 noon Dr. Brokenleg will present a second workshop in the Sanctuary – “Can We Fix It? Is Reconciliation Possible in Our Time?”
