DIA DE LOS MUERTOS (Day of the Dead)
Thursday 2 November
6-9pm

Farmhouse Common Room

Join church member Madelaine Clarke and Doña Marta Fraser for a special evening of sacred circle dance, ritual and feasting!

Día de los Muertos is a life-affirming Mexican holiday (holy day) celebrating remembrance of departed loved ones who have transitioned to an alternate dimension.  This Aztec and Toltec indigenous celebration of death as a natural life arc features lavish and colourful preparations.  Traditions include creating an ofrenda (altar) featuring pictures and favourite foods of the departed, calaveras de azucar (sugar skulls), candles and cempazúchitl (marigold flowers).

Maximum capacity for this event is 18 adults and requires a non-refundable $20 e-transfer to confirm registration before Monday, October 30th.  You are encouraged to bring a photo or small memento for the ofrenda, so please note that doors will open 30 minutes prior to the event to ensure a 6pm start; there is no late admittance.

Remember a water bottle, wear soft indoor shoes and comfortable, layered clothing that reminds you of your departed loved one(s). This is a mask-optional event; if you are experiencing cold/flu-like symptoms or have had recent exposure, please stay home and contact Madelaine regarding a refund.
