Intensive Care:  Mend, Suture, Heal

Intensive Care:  Mend, Suture, Heal –

Anne Vaasjo with Jesse Invik, Worship Associate –

“Intensive Care”, is an irrational, quixotic mixed media work of art, using a medical model of healing to suggest hope in the face of despair. Anne Vaasjo will be the sharing of the multi-stage, many-year art project.

This morning will include a visual journey about the ways this grandiose idea (the possible triumph of hope in the midst of despair) can be expressed with small ethereal, gestures to bandage the world, and all the participants in the creation of this work of art.

Anne has physically joined Asia to Europe in Turkey, and the Americas to Europe and Africa in Iceland.  This nine-year odyssey, in which this community has already played a part, ends in May with a ritual on China Beach.  The last leg was sending bamboo across the Pacific from Japan to Vancouver Island.  If it arrives in North America, it would be arriving soon. Everyone is invited to help create and/or participate in a celebratory community-building finale to welcome the bamboo.
