Spirited Jazz in the Sanctuary presents the dazzling array of talented singers, musicians and jazz stylings that we are so fortunate to have living on Vancouver Island. Interspersed with travelling groups we provide a rich tapestry of jazz artists in a spectacular Sanctuary environment. Your sound and visual experience is the result of a facility designed to provide you with a high quality acoustic and electronically supported reality with a system of cameras and monitors that allow you to view the live scene from four additional angles.
Co-minister and Reverend of Jazz, Shana Lynngood presides with a splash of spirituality complementary to the music to ensure mind, body, heart and soul are totally replenished. Spirited Jazz sessions take place on the last Sunday of each month at 7:15 pm, excluding July, August and December, featuring top jazz groups from Greater Victoria and further afield. Each “Spirited Jazz in the Sanctuary” service is nurtured and sustained by donations at the door with much appreciation for your support of live jazz.
Admission is by donation (no tickets) with all contributions going to the artists. The open seating is plentiful with multiple views from your choice of seating. Entry is through the east or main entrance to the Sanctuary, leaving the north “stage door” free for musicians, their equipment and related technical set up of the Sanctuary. These services are IN PERSON only. No Zoom.
