The Cages of One’s Own Making –

Rev. Melora Lynngood, Homilist, with Karen Christie, Worship Associate

This month we consider the theme, ‘Living Love through the Practice of Freedom.’

Rev. MeloraOne of the questions we are given to ponder in this month’s Soul Matters material (see “theme questions” in June’s In the Spirit) is: “What form of ‘imprisonment’ are you most vulnerable to? Fear? The need for safety? Woundedness? Shame? Self-doubt? Anger? Fear of rejection? The inability to say sorry? Regret? Gossip? Society’s standards of beauty? Your own standard of living?”

We begin this month with a look at the internal cages in which we find ourselves. What keeps you from being the you that you wish to be? How might you begin to crack the door open toward your own liberation?
