Just as Unitarian Universalists tend to be suspicious of institutions, there are likely many UUs who are also suspicious of tradition. After all, many among us broke free of narrow-minded or rigid ‘traditional’ religions and creeds to get here. But perhaps we shouldn’t throw out the baby with the bathwater. In this introduction to May’s theme, we’ll look at traditions we have kept, new traditions we have created, and the ways in which tradition — and the spiritual practice of connecting with our roots — might enrich our lives.
