Spiritual Care In the Polycrisis —

Gagan Leekha, Homilist —

Lynne Bonner, Worship Associate —

These times are unsettling. When we feel separate, when despair grows strong, how do we turn to our spiritual practice to remember to bring the heart online as we turn towards the suffering of the world? How do we fall back in love with this world, let our hearts break a little bit, and feel our ways back into wise response? This will be an interactive session with elements of Joanna Macy’s Work that Reconnects framework.

Gagan Leekha (she/they) is a first-generation Indo-Canadian, born on the northwest coast of B.C. and has been living on Lekwungen Territories since 1998.

Rooted in Sikh, Buddhist, and social justice traditions, Gagan weaves spirituality with community care. A long-time yoga and meditation practitioner, Gagan is co-founder of Sweet Refuge Sangha, a peer-led IBPOC mindfulness group, and has shared accessible, trauma-informed yoga in community settings since 2017.

With over 25 years experience in community development and a Master’s in Leadership, Gagan is life-long learner and is currently studying Buddhist Eco-Chaplaincy through the Sati Centre for Buddhist Studies. She is committed to working at the intersection of inner change and collective change.
