Rev. Melora Lynngood with Worship Associate Doug McGinnis –
When we think of ‘risk,’ we often think of physical risk – rock-climbing, sky-diving, and the like.
But what about emotional risk? What about relational risk? When does reaching out to someone feel like a risk? What does it mean to take risks as s community? What if we, as a community, risked being more relational?
A colleague spoke of a ‘circle of 5’ theory – that every kid, every person, needs 5 support people in their lives playing distinctly different roles (eg., someone who would be there for you in a crisis, someone who encourages you to branch out). Who are your 5 people? How might we become a place in which people of all ages could find their circle of 5?
