Inclusivity in Action –
Asiyah Robinson, Homilist –
Jana Kotaska, Worship Associate –
There has been an increase in discussions around racism, equity, inclusivity, and more, but before we can move towards action, we first need to build our understanding of what these terms mean. What does it mean to be anti-racist? How do we become intentionally more inclusive in our communities, workplaces, and day-to day life? What can it look and feel like to live the Unitarian Universalist eighth principle, “individual and communal action that accountably dismantles racism and systemic barriers to full inclusion in ourselves and our institutions?” Asiyah Robinson works as the Program Manager at the Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Centre Society for an anti-racism initiative called Leading Change for Resilient Communities, which
aims to enhance equity in rural BC workplaces and surrounding communities by fostering education and collaborative societal action.
