‘Church’, ‘Worship’, and Other Words We UUse

Rev. Melora Lynngood – “Church.” “Worship.” What do Unitarian Universalists mean when we use these words? Should we use them? What about alternative choices like “Fellowship,” “Congregation,” “Sunday services?” Are we a “religion,” “a faith tradition,” “a movement?” To what extent are we a Protestant tradition? How do the words we use to describe ourselves and the things we do effect how others view us? How do they effect how we understand ourselves?
