SPARK Circus for Burmese Refugee Children

Karina Strong is a long-time Unitarian and owner of Vesta Entertainment Circus, a fire and stilt performance troupe based in Nanaimo. Karina and her husband Kevin took their children (then three and eight) to Thailand for two months with SPARK! Circus (a 100% volunteer organization through Performers Without Borders) teaching circus arts and also performing spectacular fire shows in Burmese refugee camps, orphanages, migrant schools and hospitals. Their mission is to bring joy and laughter to these war-ravaged children. The service is presented with video, poetry, and stories, illustrated by Kevin’s stunning photography from the journey. Kevin and Karina will be available after the service for questions.
